WHAT IS AAIDRO
Arusha Archdiocesan Integrated Development and Relief Office (AAIDRO) is a non- profit making Church Organization, entrusted with empowering the marginalized and promotion sustainable development among the Communities in the Catholic Archdiocese of Arusha.
AAIDRO was established in August 2000 after the transformation of the Arusha Diocesan Development Office (ADDO) which was resolved by the First Archdiocesan Synod in 1999 as to strengthen the Development endeavour.
Primarily, ADDO was established in 1984 after the severe food crisis in the Diocese of Arusha, later it collapsed in 1995 due to management difficulties.
For the past fifteen (15) years, AAIDRO has offered Social Services to compliment the Pastoral Efforts of the Archdiocese to insure that all the beneficiaries receive both spiritual and development welfare from the Church. Thus the legal status of AAIDRO is under the Registration of Arusha Archdiocese.
In 2004 AAIDRO seemed to have grown and expanded well while the management structures remained the same. As to decrease in the workload, it was recommended for both the Health and Education departments to become independent Departments from AAIDRO.
Recently, Mr. Joachim Wangabo, the new Director of AAIDRO together with his Management Team, resolute to restructure AAIDRO to make it more independent regarding the current economic situations. Also this has made the management of AAIDRO become much easier to integrate all the functions of the Archdiocese.
The outstanding result of AAIDRO performance is due to good guidance provided by the board members. This has enabled it to run social activities during the whole period of her existence.
